"New to Dancing" by Sandra from Melbourne, dancing Street Latin. Listed May 15th 2006.

"My story starts when my husband asked, whether or not we as a couple should learn to dance. That was nearly 7 years or more ago.......Then finally 6 weeks ago in Cranbourne, Victoria,
I signed both of us up for Street Latin style of dancing with private lessons every Wednesday for
an hour. Its the best thing we have ever done.

Our backgrounds are Ray, he's a truck driver 41 yrs and me Sandra, a nurse 39 years of age in rehabilitation. We both work very long hours and shift work, so we made a commitment to have a date each Wednesday.
Dancing has made us not only get together each week, but has made us more intimate with each other. We are laughing, having fun and exercising. We are learning how to get to know
each other in a totally different way, better than before. A way in which I never knew my husband of 20 years.
I knew him only as a hard worker, who in his spare time went off trail bike riding with mates.
Speaking of mates they now have seen the relationship develop and are now taking lessons with their own wives."

The moral of this story is to enjoy each other and be a witness to your partners life and them to yours, because in my line of work, life is way to short to worry and think, "If I only" ?
Learn to dance with your partner, or on your own with an instructor.
Bring joy to other people in you life when you show them your dance moves. Watch them smile.
And foremost make the most of every day and love the people around you and love the music that flows through you when you dance."

"Once A Dancer, Always A Dancer" by Michelle M., dancing Ballroom. Listed July 11th, 2006.

"My husband and I met at a Ballroom Dancing Studio when I was 23 and my husband was 28. We started dancing as dance partners and danced in some dance competitions. Later on during our dancing partnership, our friendship grew more serious. We then decided to end our dancing partnership so we could concentrate on our personal relationship. Just recently, we celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary and now we have a 2 year old son, who is very precious to us.

I still enjoy dancing and I have tried various types such as Colonial Dancing, Physical Culture, Modern Jive and Contemporary Dancing. A few years ago I worked as a Volunteer at Ausdance (The Australian Dance Council). My husband helps out doing the Compering, speaking over the microphone at the Dance Studio Medal Days. "Once A Dancer, Always A Dancer"."

Notes for budding writers:
I want, nay I demand your answers and stories to the many perplexing questions concerning Dance Husbands and Dance Wives, so that others may learn from your wisdom and also from your mistakes.

Please email me your stories as soon as possible so others may be put
out of their misery by learning THE answers. I will be creating a dedicated webpage to publish these stories, so all can benefit from the collective words of wisdom or perhaps words of disaster.

It's surprising how much clearer relationships can be when you put pen to paper, or
these days keyboard to screen.

One other thing. This is a dance footwear website, so a requirement for each story is that the author must mention dance shoes at least once.

By the way, I may be tempted if there is enough stories, to give away a FREE pair of Prodance shoes to the author of what I and a small panel of judges, deem to be the best story.

You may not thinks so, but your story IS important in the scheme of things.
I look forward to reading YOUR story soon.
Now get to it. Start writing.

The easy way is just to write down your thoughts as you think of them and email your story off to me without editing it yourself, letting me do the work for you.
Or, if you have more time to spare, simply start writing whatever comes into your head, letting the form and scope of your writing gently evolve until you have a finished product.
The beauty of the word processor is the ease you can continually edit your work until you are happy with the result. Write and re-write. Write and re-write.
Invariably you will end up with something totally different to your original intentions.
This is one of the great beauties of creative writing.
It is a genuine example of evolution at work.
Even if you have only a basic understanding of English and come from a non-English-speaking background, you can still write a fantastic article.
Interesting writing comes from the heart and soul - not necessarily from the brain.
So don't be afraid, just start writing, and before you know it your literary baby will be born.

Your stories may be of any length, be readable, informative, entertaining and in English. I will even accept continuing stories in chapter or serial form.
Must mention the style of dancing involved.
Whether you are male or female and your age.
Initials, first name or other ID [does not have to be your real name]
Country and City of residence.
Ideally each story will be printed as presented, on this website,
But I do reserve the right to have the last word on what goes to print.
And as they say, no correspondence will be entered into.

*Please email story either as a Word file or as text within the actual email*.
