like the factory I am using is closing
down, due to the ill health of the owner
and his wife.

I am a 3rd generation footwear retailer
and it really saddens me to see this Australian factory close down.
Started in 1981, this factory has been unique in its ability to make
top quality footwear as individual pairs, rather than just in large runs at the
consistant quality they do.

The factory is currently looking for a buyer and some negotiatons are in place,
so we live in hope.

July 31st, 2008. Any changes to this

styles Natoli, San Remo and New York

Sizes US 9.5 to 10 have cuban heels.
Fittings range from B (narrow),

Important Notice

Never before in all the years this website
has been up, have I discussed the
quality of other brands of shoes, but something now must be said about a
large proportion of cheap Asian imports being sold in this country.

Two of my recent customers suffered
sprained ankles from these shoes, one of
whom was unable to dance for nearly nine months as a result of her injury.

Why is it so you may ask?

In good quality shoes there is a semi rigid
mid-sole in the fore part of ladies' shoes,
that give the dance shoes lateral stability.
Without a quality mid-sole, the shoe has a tendency to wobble and this instability is
often accentuated by narrow heels,
slippery hard plastic heel tips and inferior
heel counters at the back of the shoe.

Heels are more often than not attached
with staples rather than serrated nails
(as in Prodance shoes) so there is
also a tendency for these heels
to collapse over time.

The cheap imported shoes in question
appear to have no, or at most an extremely
thin mid-sole, with a soft suede outsole
and deep padding under the fore foot.
This type of construction creates a shoe
that is extremely unstable for most dancers.

You may be assured that Prodance dance
shoes are not made with this inferior construction and componentry, so are very
stable and secure on the foot.

Other problems that have been brought to
my attention by a dance studio owner
concern shoe linings in some imports, also
from parts of S.E.Asia, where it is well known that often quality control can be very suspect.

If you notice your shoes have an unusual
odour, even before they are worn, take them back straight away as often this type of smell
is caused by either chemicals inside the lining, even plastic linings, or chemicals used in the
in the process of tanning leather linings.

This smell is not caused by excessive perspiration, as this is another problem
all together.

Also the use of incorrect or excess chemicals
in shoe linings are known to periodically
cause severe skin reactions
on the feet and legs.

As they say - let the buyer beware.
A cheap shoe may soon become a
a far more expensive one if it has to be replaced after a short time.

I would like now to take this opportunity

Salsa and Ballroom, I would like to

20mm heel for our men's shoes.
